ESTUDIO DE RADIOSENSIBILIDAD Y SELECCIÓN DEL RANGO DE DOSIS ESTIMULANTES DE RAYOS X EN CUATRO VARIEDADES DE TOMATE (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill)

| description | Seeds of four commercial tomato varieties: Lignon, INCA 9-1, Tropical Mallac-10 and Campbell 28 were exposed to X-rays source (0-800 Gy) to determine the radiosensitivity and interval of stimulant doses for these varieties. The X-rays source used was a superficial therapy source with a work regime of 55 KV and 30 mA for a dose power of 11.47 Gy/min. The percentage of seed germination was evaluated after seven days and root length, seedling height and stem diameter after 15 days. Seedling survival was determined after 15 days too; regression equations between the applied X-rays doses and radiosensitivity parameter evaluated were established, determining 50 % reduction seedling height doses and the mean lethal dose. Results showed intervals of doses by regions for each variable and variety studied with higher differences in the radiostimulation, transition and radioinhibition regions. Doses between 5-75 Gy had a radiostimulant effect on seedling height while those between 5-25 Gy on root length. Doses between 5-25 Gy were recommended for productive practice. |
