Description
Summary:Due to its coastal situation, the Caen area is regularly subject to sea and land breezes in summertime. To apprehend this phenomenon we used existing documents and data (Méteo France) and our own data acquired during previous measuring field campaigns in 2003, 2004 and 2005. This article seeks to provide a new study on the variability in space and in time of the breezes in relation to the topography and the land-use in the Caen area. This study concludes with the necessity of taking into account all the phenomena occurring from the continental scale to the microlocal scale so as to understand the sea and land breezes.
