description Background. Hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, such as gestational hypertension and preeclampsia, pose significant health risks. They require a personalized treatment approach due to their multifactorial nature. The presence of subclinical hypothyroidism may exacerbate these risks, making thyroid function monitoring before and during pregnancy particularly important. The aim. To investigate the clinical features and severity of hypertension in newly diagnosed subclinical hypothyroidism among women in Andijan.Methods. A case-control study conducted from November 2022 to April 2023 included 272 pregnant women aged 18 to 40 years without chronic diseases. The main group comprised 88 women diagnosed with hypertension after the 20th week of pregnancy. The control group consisted of 184 women without hypertension. The study excluded HIV-positive women, as well as those with congenital anomalies or who had undergone surgical interventions on the genitourinary and cardiovascular systems. Socio-demographic and lifestyle characteristics of the participants were studied. The analysis revealed significant differences in age, activity level, place of residence, employment, and education, as well as a correlation between body mass index, health status, and hypertension severity.Results. The findings underscored the importance of thyroid function monitoring during pregnancy, linking hypertension to age, activity level, and obesity. This confirms the necessity for a comprehensive approach to pregnancy management, including thyroid function and lifestyle modifications.
