Summary:To evaluate the antitumor activity of group A streptococcal lipoteichoic acid (LTA), LTA was extracted and purified by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) from group A Streptococcus, and its molecular structure was analyzed by gas chromatography and infared spectrum. The effect of LTA on the proliferation of human Hela cells and its antitumor activity in vitro were researched. The results showed that LTA was composed of glycerol phosphate backbone, sugar-substituted group and fatty acids. LTA had inhibitory effect on human Hela cells, Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) and S_180 tumor at a certain dosage range.
