Summary:In the past three decades, the concept of life style in general and health- oriented lifestyle, in particular, were considered by many social thinkers, health researchers and medical sociologists. In an exact glance, health-oriented lifestyle as a multi-dimensional phenomenon is related to patterns of people behavior .This is concerned health-threatening issues to ensure their health. Closer look at related literatures show that some researchers have sought to explain patterns of health behavior, while others seek to explain the determinants like individual choices. These choices could not take place in a social, cultural and political vacuum, but is influenced by determinants such as gender, social class and marital status. Adopting the same approach relying on medical sociology background, this paper aimed to evaluate health- oriented lifestyle and its determinants in students of Jundi Shapur University of Medical Sciences and Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. The results show a differentiation in students' health- oriented lifestyle based on gender, age, race, social class, marital status and variety of universities. This study also shows a significant relationship between different type of human investment "social, economic, cultural" and health- oriented lifestyle of students.
