Description
Summary:Abstract Despite tremendous progress in the last century in the treatment of mental illnesses, many of these conditions still have no known solution. Effective rehabilitation is crucial for managing mental illness because medical management alone is insufficient in this regard. One non-pharmacological intervention that concentrates on these aspects of rehabilitation is Occupational Therapy. One can address the person, environment, and occupation needs through various occupational therapy models. It is critical to realize these unrealized potentials in India. This commentary is about how we can support the growth of occupational therapy as a mental health profession and what it can do in the field of mental illness.
