| description | Collective exposure to manifestations of violence through the media is a key vector of discourse on the phenomenon of insecurity in Haiti. Its impacts on school management are multiple. Between 2018 and 2022, there was an increase in crimes and misdemeanours against people, juvenile delinquency, and an increase in robberies and murderous violence in Port-au-Prince. This situation is marked by the incessant activity of armed groups and the persistent inability of state authorities to properly protect the right to education and security. This climate affects directly and indirectly the access to education for the most vulnerable children. At least five high schools in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area have been forced to close their doors due to fighting between armed gangs. This article proposes to address this issue through a documentary analysis. It is a technique that allows for the understanding, interpretation, and description of previous research findings from 2006 to 2021. The results showed that the impacts of insecurity on school management are numerous. This study therefore proposes to conceive school as a factor of socio-economic integration, provide the school with a security framework, encourage the collaboration of all actors towards the promotion of quality and inclusive education, establish clear public policies in favour of schools operating in hot districts. |
