Summary:The marine environment of the Caribbean Sea is composed primarily of three main ecosystems: coral reefs, mangroves and seagrasses, home to fauna and flora. But the delicate balance of these areas is threatened by many human activities that deteriorate gradually deteriorated them. Deal with socio-economic issues around these resources, Caribbean countries have established a legal framework at the regional level to ensure the protection and management of marine resources (the Cartagena Convention). After drawing up an overview of the environmental situation of the main Caribbean marine ecosystems, it should present the management mode adopted to preserve them.
