Summary:One of the most common and popular genres in traditional and popular literature is romantic poetry. This type of literature has been recorded in the Iranian culture collection in the form of prose and verse and with more than 600 written works, both printed and written. The great poets have paid attention to this area because of the creation of a school or out of amusement. This huge volume of literary works has not been classified and analyzed yet. In this article, the author tries to propose his classification based on Persian love poetry from ten aspects of the type and gender of lovers, theme, historical origin, geographical origin, originality of narration, ending, type of love, language, expression and presentation method. Before that, some generalities are expressed about romantic poetry and its historical course. This article and the proposed classification provide the way for more and better study of romantic poetry.
