In the absence of a memorial to honour his memory, the popular and literary imagination has taken hold of him, building a legend or creating a literary myth. This article shows how Alexis has inserted himself in his novels and then examines how various authors have appropriated his story and contributed to the creation of a virtual memorial in the absence of a physical one. |
