description To meet the practical needs of classified collection, graded treatment, and quality recycling of coal chemical wastewater, and in accordance with the standardization requirements of wastewater resource utilization, the Standardization Administration of China released the national standard GB/T 42,866-2023 ″Guidelines for Coal Chemical Wastewater Treatment and Recycling Technology” on August 6, 2023, for the first time. Based on the standard, this paper comprehensively and systematically sorts out and analyzes the characteristics, processes, water circulation systems, and standardization paths of units such as coal chemical wastewater collection and treatment, recycling, and the treatment of concentrated brine water, through extensive industry research. Furthermore, by integrating typical engineering case practices, this paper explains the feasibility of the paths, which provides technical guidance and experience for relevant cases of coal chemical wastewater treatment and recycling. It is also of great importance for promoting the standardized management and development of coal chemical wastewater treatment and recycling worldwide.
