description Museums as a possibility of historicity, cultural democratization and open dialogue require a constant review and questioning of their objectives and social commitment. During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, museums as educational spaces found it necessary to find new ways to communicate with the public that frequented the venues on a daily basis. The present work arises from the concern that was generated to know the strategies that were implemented in the Museum of the Desert, which increased its interaction in social networks and allowed to have a greater reach with its audience. In this regard, Juan Carlos Mantilla, head of the communication department, gave an interview in which the technical aspects and the results of this interaction could be known. Following the precepts of Ma. Inmaculada Pastor Homs and Joseph Ballart, which address the concepts of the educational work of museums and the formation of audiences, the work is articulated in 5 sections that range from the analysis of the museum in the face of the challenges brought about by the pandemic to the meeting space in the Museum of the Desert.
