Description
Summary:At arrival in Mexico of the new information technologies (1979), theory and research on communication in this country already have a critical way. Nevertheless, it is difficult to refer to a Mexican thought proper in this matter. To study the information technologies leads to the difficult task of defining them, of understanding the technical and innovating influence of the US, as well as the repercussion of European ideas. In most cases, Third World countries do not have the necessary technical or human infrastructure to keep and advance these technologies. Both governments and the population in general have difficulty integrating them into an economic, political and cultural context. Mexico is one of the countries in Latin America that has informatized itself at a quicker pace. But 6has this information-technology acquisition a corresponding explanatory, analitic and propositive thought just as advanced in the domain of social communication?.
