description The interpretation of the past is biased by the Eurocentric and androcentric misconceptions that are characteristic of our present-day Western society. This is clearly reflected in archaeological museums where only part of the society is represented and valued as active in the construction of past cultures and daily life activities. In this article we present the research project VEMOS (2021-2024) which, by systematically integrating scientific research in archaeology and the socialisation of knowledge, aims to make visible groups traditionally marginalised in history: women, children, the elderly, other ethnic groups, other gender identities. The objective is to make museums open and inclusive spaces for reflection in which everyone can see themselves represented as active individuals in the cultural construction of the past. This is only possible because the archaeological and scientific data allow us to identify this polysemic reality, but it is also a duty to build a more egalitarian and just society in the present. The project proposes feasible solutions so that museums can implement their permanent exhibitions integrating an inclusive gender perspective, as well as incorporating other groups forgotten by traditional research.
