| Summary: | During the May 2017 parliamentary election in Algeria, a boycott campaign shook the Internet. The slogan mansotich went viral on Facebook. These events were sparked by a video that was published by YouTuber DZjoker. The author analyzes the strategies employed by the video’s creator and interactions between the creator and the audience (Algerian citizens) to determine the video’s effects on individual behaviour and decision making with regard to voter participation. |
