Summary:A new aphid species, Chaitoregma kirlia sp. nov., from Fujian and Guangdong, China, is described, which feeds on bamboo. The diagnostic morphological characteristics of the new species are described and illustrated. A key to apterous viviparous females of Chaitoregma species is provided. The COI barcode sequence of this new species is also provided. Due to its unique morphological characteristics, the diagnosis of the genus has been revised. Other species within the genus are also reviewed and discussed.
