Summary:According to our study, there are mainly three species of leafhoppers (Cicadellidae) on sesame field in Varamin (1989 - 1990): l- Empoasca decipiens Paoli Neoatiturus huematoceps (Muls. & Rey) Orosius albisinctus Distant Empoasca decipiens with a high-density bas a more economical important and predominant between other Leafhoppers. It has four generations per year in sesame growing areas of Varamin (Tehran province). Empoasca decipiens hibernates as adult, under the dry leaves of sesame, or other weeds, from the March when the weather gets warm activity of Empoasca begins. Period of generation is 54 - 65 days in spring and 40 - 46 days in summer.
