Summary:3-D finite element simulation model for main transformer of O’Z-Y AC drive electric locomotive was established with ANSYS software, with which magnetic flux leakage field, eddy current field and eddy current loss of transformer oil tank under its rated operation conditions were calculated to provide theoretical foundation for its cooling system. Test for 3 years long proved the correctness of theoretical analysis.
