Description
Summary:On the Well Depth of an Enigma. Notes on the Question of the Depth of Human Existence in Martin Heidegger’s Thought - Heidegger did not conceive a “theory” of depth, but his ways of thinking may be characterized by his own withdrawal into the unimaginable, which is attempted to be understood as a move into the “depth.” The essay seeks to take up Heidegger’s hint to pay attention to the path and not the content. Is this a possible methodological approach to self-revealing as self-concealing? It requires us to think with the concept against the concept: because although thinking needs the concept, the conceptual is beyond the concept—it is “before” comprehension. At the same time, the treatise remains a torso, because every step on the way to thinking the depth is one too much and at the same time one too few. What opens up is an enigma. But perhaps in this way the basic idea of Being and Time can nonetheless be touched upon.
