description Objective To investigate the effect of ultrasound-mediated transdermal drug delivery in the treatment of opioid-related constipation. Methods Totally 60 cancer patients with opioid-related constipation were randomly divided into the control group and observation group, with 30 cases in each group. All patients were treatment with lactulose oral liquid medication (15mg per time, 3 times in a day), and those in the observation group were given a-week-course of ultrasound-mediated transdermal drug delivery therapy (30 minutes per time, once a day). The treatment efficacy was measured and compared between two groups. Results The overall effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (76. 67% vs. 43. 33%, P<0. 05). Conclusion The ultrasound-mediated drug delivery is effective in the treatment of opioid-related constipation.
