description | Dissolved oxygen in surface water is an essential condition to maintain the survival of aquatic organisms and is also an important indicator to reflect the quality of the water environment. This study analyzed the spatiotemporal distribution and influencing factors of dissolved oxygen in surface water in ten river basins in China based on the monitoring results of dissolved oxygen in surface water during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. The results show that the Pearl River Basin, located in the south, has the lowest dissolved oxygen, with a multi-year average of 6.9 mg/L, while the Liaohe River Basin has the highest dissolved oxygen with a multi-year average of 9.4 mg/L. In addition to geographical factors such as altitude and temperature, the distribution of dissolved oxygen is positively correlated with pH, total nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand, permanganate index, and five-day biochemical oxygen demand, but negatively correlated with water temperature, total phosphorus, and ammonia nitrogen. The correlation with water temperature is the highest, followed by pH. |
