Description
Summary:Postural imbalances, such as scoliotic posture, are increasingly common among adolescents, often linked to prolonged sedentary behavior and muscular asymmetries. This study examines whether traditional karate techniques can aid in postural correction through a structured 12-week intervention. Eighty-six young karate practitioners (ages 11–18) were assessed for trunk rotation angle, shoulder symmetry, and pelvic alignment before and after the program. The results indicate significant postural improvements, with better spinal alignment and reduced asymmetries. Notably, these effects were consistent across gender, age groups, and experience levels. These findings suggest that incorporating karate-based exercises into training or rehabilitation programs may be an effective, non-invasive approach to improving posture and preventing musculoskeletal issues in adolescents.
