Description
Summary:The purpose of this article is to examine the complex ofpolitical myths about World War II, the role and place of the Soviet Union and other participants in it, to identify the main trends and features ofpolitical myths on this topic. The author concludes that the emergence ofpolitical myths about the Second World War is aimed at «normalizing» its own history, which implies endowing other participants of the Second World War within the framework of the national myth with the most negative qualities. Thus, inconvenient facts from the history of one's own people become less noticeable andjustified by historical necessity.
