Summary: | This study aims to show that some of the main epistemological theses exposed in 1906 by Pierre Duhem in La théorie physique originate from the intention to provide solutions to pedagogical problems encountered by Duhem himself in the course of his teaching career, which began in 1887 at the Faculty of Science in Lille. His aim, in other words, is to establish that Duhemian epistemology can be interpreted as a "teacher's epistemology", in which the traditional epistemological question of "the conditions of possibility of scientific knowledge" tends to merge with that of "the conditions of possibility of the transmission of scientific knowledge". |
