| description | In the last decades, the movement of victims has been starring in the spaces of citizenship in Latin America. Victims of personal, political, social, ethnic and other types of violence become visible so that their experience is part of a social reality and they intervene and influence the political space. Their presence on the public stage is a remark against the victimizers and the inefficiency of the State that doesn’t guarantees to the citizens their fundamental rights. Colombia hasn’t been an exception. In the country, these movements have been very important, especially in the framework of the armed conflict. The victims of the state, the guerrillas and the paramilitaries have organized into groups or associations, that through marches, demonstrations and declarations make public their experience. The victims are the reflection of the complexity of the conflict: each personal story adds to a multifaceted reality difficult to understand. Given that this is an ongoing conflict and the political landscape is quite complicated, we can ask, how the victim vindicates his rights in the context of the current Colombian conflict? What kind of political space have they conquered? |
