| Summary: | The main goal of the present work is to analyze the health vulnerability in the municipalities of the State of Paraná (Brazil), based on basic sanitation and socioeconomic variables. The approach consisted of carrying out the methodological proposal elaborated by the Health Department of Belo Horizonte city (Brazil). In order to evaluate the Health Vulnerability Index-IVS, Cholera, Diarrhoea and Gastroenteritis (total and population up to 5 years old) and Dengue diseases, considered important in diseases, were studied by category of IVS and their spatialization. Results found show that the direct application of methodologies applied in geographical scales, and especially cartographic scales, should be done with caution. |
