Summary:This article offers the analysis of work of the University of the Third Age in Germany and Russia, in particular, the content aspect of its educational programs is under consideration. This social institute was created for improvement of living level quality of elderly people. In the article the problems are defined which have arisen because of outdated approaches to the solution of the matter. We have highlighted the classification of the content fields, the most demanded at the present stage. The system of measures for development of content aspect of the University of the Third Age in Russia is offered.
