| Summary: | The enlargement of Brazilian regional and strategic environment corresponds to the new range of interests, opportunities and influence of a country which is in a process of consolidation as an economic power in the international arena and that has made the domain and exploitation of marine resources one of its most promising sources wealth. The inflections in the course of development of the country toward the South Atlantic in the last 30 years express the combination of vectors of broad spectrum and long lasting. This achievement has been processed by the successful implementation of a strategy that combines continuous actions in the diplomatic field, the national research effort in the broad area of marine sciences and investments aimed at strengthening the country's military capability to face challenges in Security & Defense in general and in the South Atlantic in particular. |
