Summary:In order to improve the applicability of herringbone gear modification results, it is necessary to analyze the sensitivity of gear surface modification parameters. Using Romax software, genetic algorithm is used to carry out the optimal modification of tooth profile, drum shape and topology, and the modification deformation momentum is superimposed on the optimal modification. Then considering the center distance installation error, the bearing transmission error amplitude and the maximum contact stress of the pinion are analyzed respectively. Finally, the sensitivity analysis of the change of modification parameters to transmission error and contact stress is obtained. The results show that the load transmission error amplitude is sensitive to the tooth profile modification parameters, but not to the drum shape modification parameters; after the optimal modification of the tooth profile, the bearing transmission error is not sensitive to the center distance installation error, but the drum shape modification is vice versa; the sensitivity of load-bearing transmission error amplitude to topological modification parameters is between tooth profile and drum shape modification. When the tooth profile modification is much greater than the drum shape modification, the load-bearing transmission error amplitude is not sensitive to the center distance installation error.
