Summary: | Is the teenager's bedroom, like the child's bedroom, a cultural microcosm, and what functions does it serve for them? To answer this question, we’ll undertake a sociological approach of the teenagers' bedroom through various social moments. Our conceptual scaffolding allows us to discern modes of cultural learning and identity construction that adolescents find within. The interviews carried out with adolescents aged 12 to 15 years old reveal identity focal points anchored in yet concealed by the room, as well as the rationale of adolescents reappropriating time through an appropriation of space. |
