| Summary: | Forest fires are disasters caused by natural or human factors and have environmental as well as economic impacts such as loss of biodiversity, agricultural damage, and property damage. According to statistics, the number of forest fires and the area damaged are gradually increasing in Korea. In addition, there are cases where the units 1, 2, and 6 of the Hanul Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) have already been affected by forest fires. Korea has recently initiated research on forest fires under multi-unit probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) project. This paper deals with the impact on the loss of offsite power (LOOP), which is one of the NPP incidents and accidents affected by forest fires. To estimate the frequency of LOOP induced by forest fires, the PSA methodology for earthquakes, a representative external event, was referred. |
