| description | Spanish radio went through a social and informative leap between February 23rd and 24th, 1981. The broadcast of the failed coup d’état –called the 23-F– also received the name of « night of the transistors », as it was acknowledged as one of the most important events for Spanish History of radio. The goal of this paper is to analyze the coverage of that historic broadcast from the websites of the biggest four radio networks nowadays –Cadena SER, Cadena COPE, Onda Cero and Radio Nacional de España (RNE)–. There were found some interviews with former journalists or workers that lived that night on the radio, as well as excerpts and summaries of the original broadcast. Nevertheless, none of the aforementioned networks which followed the coup attempt have uploaded the full, uncut recording permanently and accesible to their users. |
