| Summary: | This contribution introduces and contextualizes the testimony of Ottavia Nicolini on the figure of her father, Renato. The article briefly describes the context in which the “Estate romana” was born: an urban context marked by the economic and social crisis, by widespread political violence and by terrorism. The setting up of many film, theatrical and musical events in various monumental places in the city of Rome has enabled the reconquest of a democratic space in an urban area devastated by terrorist violence. The return of the population to the streets and squares was thus a real antidote to the militarization of social conflict. |
