| Summary: | Hollow axle automated ultrasonic test system uses high speed spinning probes inside the hole of the axle. This generates massive data containing echo wave and position information. To appropriately represent the information of the data, a method of combined signal display was designed. It includes conventional A-scan, B-scan and C-scan. Meanwhile, it adds 3D display which contains the stereoscopic position information of probes and defects in real time, and G-scan which contains amplitude information of echo waves. Dynamic 3D ultrasonic echo envelope is used for offline analysis. Test results of HXD1D locomotive hollow axle sample show that it is more comprehensive and intuitive than that of the conventional methods. |
