Nevertheless, coverage of the conflict in Northern Ireland poses particular difficulties, in that the conflict played out on British territory and was fought not just by the army but also by civilians.This article sketches out a panorama of BBC coverage of Northern Ireland, from the resurgence of violent conflict in the late 1960, through to 1995. With a few exceptions, the BBC followed government policy on the question by putting forward a partial and biassed view of the conflict. |
