Summary:As the majority of the countries of the Arab world, Morocco knew the arrival of huge shopping malls which characterizes the urban landscape of its big cities. With a heterogeneous offer, these spaces are appreciated by a local public in the point to represent among the most attractive urban poles. They offer spaces which are favorable to the practices of stroll, meeting which remind the atmospheres of the traditional public places. The observation of the social profiles which visit them and their social practices reveal the importance they occupied as places of sociability, meeting and urban wandering. It is particularly with the young profiles that it is interesting to observe these revealing social practices revealing a new relationship with city and its public places. From a series of investigations realized in a set of shopping malls of Rabat mixing the observations of the social uses and the qualitative interview made with a sample of their users, the contribution brings to light the social practices which make Rbatis and the young people of these places as well as the images which they associate them with regard the other public places. It shows, that within these private malls, appear new forms to practice and to represent the public places on Rabat.
