Description
Summary:In the Códice Rico, the Marian image is a proof for those who worship Marie and becomes a trial for those who are not members of Ecclesia. Several miracles stage a Jew or a Muslim, tolerated but marginalized in the Christian society, their fate depending on their faculty to recognize the virtues and the powers of the Virgin. Some representations of heretics are characterized by disorder of conduct, by excess marked by immoderation, violence and thus rejection of the Marian image. It is a diminished image of the heretic, very far from that of the heretic who questions, argues, and opposes certain points of the dogma or of the religious practices.
